Activeperl 5.8.8 Download For Windows 30 [PORTABLE]

Make sure your computer has at least 2GB (preferably 4GB) memory. (if the computer has less memory, PennCNV can still run on virtual memory, but the speed is extremely slow!) Now download PennCNV, unzip the file and then move the resulting penncnv folder into C:\penncnv\. Download the ActivePerl for windows version 5.8.8, install the ActivePerl program with all default options (the default installation location is C:\perl, and the executable will be C:\perl\bin\perl.exe).

According to -ppm-hello-state-tool/ ActivePerl 5.28 has removed the old PPM interactive GUI module installation tool in favor of the new website where you log in, pick modules, builds, waits and finally downloads your own custom runtime as one big .exe or .msi file (on windows anyways).

Install worked fine. When I try to run the test script I get an error saying "VSINIT.dll not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" Im running active state 5.8.8 build 817 on Win Xp home. The two dll's ssleay32.dll and libleay32.dll are both in the perl/bin dir which is also in the path statement. While writing this I copied the 2 dll's to the windows/system32 dir for the hell of it and it worked. May want to post this for others who may have this issue. Seems the path statement may not be what is used to locate the two dll's. Its 4 am so Im crashing out. see ya.

7.1 - We need the programs "instsrv.exe" and "SRVANY.EXE", so download windows resource kit tools from , "System Tools". Specifically the package "rktools.exe" which is listed as "Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools". Install this by double clicking the installer and following prompts. 1e1e36bf2d
